An Agricultural Sector meeting was held on 2 June 2007 with delegates from Worcester and Villiersdorp who came to request assistance from SAPTU on work related matters. SAPTU took a decision to extend its activities to the agricultural sector with immediate effect. Later SAPTU appointed Messrs D Olyn, Ongama Tshona and Me Estelle Katumba of our Stellenbosch Office and Mr Dumeko Anderson and George Tamba of our George Office to assist SAPTU with recruitment on the Agricultural as well as the Hospitality sector.

The following farms in the agricultural sector were recruited Nooitgedacht, E.T.Meyer in Phillipi, Goedgeloof farm,Gilmore Zandtvlok Boerdery, Meerendal wine Estate in Durbanville. Sandrivier and Hugoskraal in Rawsonville. Kaaimansgat and Die Erf in Villiersdorp,. Protea farm in Grabow, Monto Carlo Boerdery and Laaste Drif in Ceres.

DanielIn Junie 2007 het SAPTU ‘n vergadering van afgevaardiges in die Landbou-sektor byeen geroep om werwing en bystand met probleme in die Landbousektor van stapel te stuur.
Later het SAPTU sy aktiwiteite in die Landbou en Restaurant sektore vergroot deur Mnre D Olyn, O Tshona en Me E Katumba van die Stellenbosch kantoor asook Menere Anderson Dumeko en George Tamba van die George kantoor aangestel om ons in bogenoemde sektore verdere bystand te verleen.

Die volgende plase in die Ladbousektor is sedertdien gewerf:

 

AWETUC (Agriculture Workers Trade Union Council)

SAPTU together with other Agriculture Unions in the Western Cape is a member of the Agricultural Workers Empowerment Trade Union Council (AWETUC). The objectives of AWETUC are to provide direct institutional support and resources in order to provide much needed skills and knowledge especially at a Shop Steward. Organiser and Union Leadership level.
