SAPTU’s Constitution makes, interalia, provision that :
A Forum may be created in which any matters that the Union may consider of importance can be discussed; and
Obtain the opinion of members of such a forum on any relevant matter and convey it to SAPTU or to other organizations.
Flowing from the above it is SAPTU’S goal to provide more general education on workers issues to students in Universities and Colleges. The image of Trade Unions at present is that it is a hierarchical establishment of middle- aged male where young workers issues are not discussed.
