NHLS STAFF PRIORITISED IN PILOT PROGRAMME
While some NHLS staff based at pilot sites have already been vaccinated, SAPTU-ISA was pleased to learn that the NHLS has requested the National Department of Health (NDoH) to prioritise the NHLS staff as part of the pilot COVID-19 vaccine roll-out programme.
According to Dr Kamy Chetty, NHLS CEO, discussions with the NDoH indicate that NHLS staff will be vaccinated over the next two months, with the healthcare workers first in line, followed by the rest of NHLS workers.
The NHLS has submitted a list of all NHLS staff to be registered on the Electronic Vaccine Data System (EVDS). However, staff must self-register with EVDS to link their name with the list given.
