NISA Newsletter of the Internal Staff Association (ISA) Branch of SAPTU

Dear ISA Members

Strike action

Our members gave ISA a mandate to accept the draft annual substantive and wage negotiations agreement as detailed in our last newsletter (May 2016 (4)).

However, Labour declared a dispute and was issued a strike certificate by the CCMA.

Nehawu has now called for strike action, to commence on 4th July 2016. The demands include proficiency assessments for both technical and non-technical workers in October 2016 and a 13th cheque.

We wish to inform ISA members that they may join the strike if they so wish. However, NO ONE can force you to join the strike.

Please also remember that even though it is a protected strike, the NO WORK, NO PAY rule will apply if you do go on strike.

If you have any questions or comment, please send these by reply email.
